Thanksgiving portmanteaus:

Thanksgivingukkah: for the calendrical convergence of Thanksgiving and Hanukkah. Linguistically speaking, this is rather a strained portmanteau; it doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.

Friendsgiving:  Celebrating Thanksgiving with friends rather than family. If gathering with one’s blood relations feels too much like a bloodbath, forsake the bonds of kin and hang with The Gang instead.

Turducken: Turkey stuffed with duck stuffed with chicken. Talk about a bloodbath (says the vegetarian).

Wordnik ran a Thanksgiving portmanteau contest; among my favorites:

turcoma: (really needs no explaining)

crandiose sauce: cranberry sauce with multiple ingredients

turzaster: every family has its turkey disaster story, right? My mother’s stove conked out mid-roast once. We had to outsource to a neighbor’s house.
